Toni Echols, 35, of King George, is facing a pair of charges after attempting to pull a fast one on members of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office who found her and a passenger asleep inside a car on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Deputies were called at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon to respond to multiple calls of a pair who were passed out in a vehicle at the intersection of Courthouse Road and Austin Ridge Road.
According to the responding deputy who found the two, they appeared to be under the influence at the time he approached their vehicle.
Echols proceeded to advise the deputy that she was on her way to deliver a DoorDash order before she accidentally fell asleep at the intersection.
However, one thing was missing: the food. What was in their vehicle was controlled substances, police noted.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said that a passenger of the vehicle readily admitted to having controlled substances on his person, and when prompted about where he got them, he swifty replied that he “ain’t no snitch.
Echols was charged with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance. She was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1,500 secured bond, while the passenger was hit with the same charges and held until sobering up.
